Distance 1.53 miles (2.45 km)
The stadium opened in 1997, looks imposing from afar, as it is perched on a hill with hardly any buildings around it. It looks good when lit up at night. A vast improvement on the old Victoria Ground which has now sadly been demolished. It is a fair sized stadium comprising three separate stands, one of which extends half way around the ground. I'm a great fan of grounds which are totally enclosed, so it is a shame that this new ground has three open corners. Internally, I found the stadium a bit lacking in character, however I'm sure this will develop in time. In one corner of the ground next to the away end is a large electric scoreboard.

The city boasts internationally acclaimed visitor centres at Royal Doulton, Spode and Wedgwood all offering craft demonstrations, factory tours, stunning museum collections and exciting shopping opportunities. Pick up a bargain at one of the forty or so pottery factory shops, selling everything from dinner services to figurines to tiles and jewellery. As night falls the cultural quarter comes alive with activity in its restaurants, bars, clubs and theatres, including the magnificent Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall with their star-studded programmes of West End musicals, opera, drama, ballet and concerts.
